Ernakulum: Film maker Vidhu Vincent, one of the founding members of the organization resigned from Woman Collective in Cinema (WCC). Vidhu said she quit the organization due to political and personal reasons.
Vidhu said she will support all future attempts launched by the organization that will help boost the women in the film industry. She said the organization is to strengthen further by undergoing through self criticism in the journey forward.
No response came out from WCC over Vidhu’s resignation so far. WCC was formed in 2017 after the actress abducted and assaulted case in which actor Dileep was an accused came out. The organization was formed to fight for the right of women in the Malayalam film industry facing harassment and abuse in the industry.
Actress Manju Warrier, who pointed fingers against her ex-husband Dileep openly over the actress abducted and assaulted case, was one of the founding members of the organization,. The actress quit from the organization last year citing personal reasons. Now Vidhu, another founding member of the organization steps out from the first organization exclusively for women in Malayalam industry.
