Thousands arrived to pay respects to the brave heart, who served the country for 18 years as the mortal remains of VV Vasanth Kumar reached his house at Lakkidi in Wayanad.
The mortals of Vasanth Kumar will be kept at house and the school where he studied to pay homage. While taking the body from Karipur to Wayanad, thousands paid tribute to the soldier.
The martyr’s remains was brought to the Karipur airport today noon and was received by Minister AK Sasindran on behalf of the Kerala state government.
Union Minister Alphons Kannanthanam, State Ministers EP Jayarajan, KT Jaleel, T.P Ramakrishnana, Ramachandran Kadannapalli and other politicians were present at the Karipur airport.
VV Vasanth Kumar, was the son Vasudevan and Santha. He is survived by his wife Sheena and two children. Vasanth Kumar returned to Kashmir on February 9th after completing a week leave. He got leave over the battalion change.
He was serving in Indian army for 18 years and was about to retire after 2 years. He was promoted as the Havaldar and changed to battalion 82 of CRPF.
40 CRPF personnel were killed after terrorists targeted a convoy with car bomb at Jammu and Kashmir’s Awantipora town two days ago. The CRPF convoy was moving from Jammu to Srinagar, 70 vehicles and 2500 personnel were moving through the Srinagar-Jammu highway in Goripora area.
