Thiruvananthapuram: The state government has decided to cancel the bid to divide village Panchayaths temporarily owing to the huge financial liability.
The department of local self government intends to complete the border organization and division of Panchayath wards. The department of local self government had earlier decided to direct Panchayath deputy directors to submit the details of village panchayaths.
Though the government was decided to divide 40 Panchayaths despite financial crisis the move was put off after the finance minister Thomas Issac warned not to go ahead with. The finance minister warned off huge financial liability to the state if go forward with the move.
