Thiruvananthapuram: Kanam Rajeendran, CPI state secretary said the police action over arresting two students allegedly slapping UAPA cannot be justifiable. He said the left wing parties are fighting against dictatorship imposed in the form of laws like UAPA. Imposing UAPA like black laws on civilians over mere reasons is not decoration to a leftist the government.
Kanam said cannot trust police evidence over the matter. There were cases where people proved to be cleared of crimes after the police charges convicted them for life. A leftist government should not act like a Modi government. He evaded the question whether the police can act independently in a state uncurbed by the state leadership.
He said the left government should not be like the ruling done by the government.
