New Delhi:: Student protest at JNU continues aggressive as the authorities take no bid to resolve the issue. The students demand university authorities to hold with. So far no move for dialogue was made by the authorities over the student protest. The striking students are stubborn in their stand not to withdraw from the protest till their demand is met by the authorities.
The fees hiked from RS 6,000 to RS 12,000 and it is difficult to afford for a major chunk of students whose annual income comes up to RS 12,000. The dress code is directed ‘appropriate’ by the authorities and according to them it is an insult to them. They consider it as a moral policing imposing on students study for PG, Mhil and research courses at the university. The caution deposit which was RS 1800 hiked to RS 10,000.
The students now hold sit –in-protest at the campus. Some teachers also take part at the student protest at the campus. More students come to participate at the protest.
