Thiruvananthapuram: Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan deplored the stand taken by Home Minister Amit Shah over declaring Hindi as the primary language in India. Pinarayi said that the move is a sign of opening a new conflict in the name of language. Chief Minister said that it is quite pointless that Hindi can unite nation together as a common language and he pointed out that In South and North Eastern states, people are not talking Hindi.
To declare Hindi as the primary language in these states is denouncing the mother tongue of people in these states. He said that the bid is in another sense a war declaration against the human feeling of loving mother tongue as mother. Hindi has already declared as the national language and there is no dispute over language in the country so far. There is no situation for a citizen to think himself as not an Indian citizen as he is not taking Hindi. India has the figure of a nation accepting all varied languages and Sangh Parivar organizations should keep away from the bid. He said It is better for Sangh Parivar to understand that the people can know their move to veer basic problems faced by nation.
