Beguluru / New Delhi: In a crucial judgment, Supreme Court, directed to sustain the current status over considering the resignation of MLAs and annulling resigned MLAs. The apex Court stated it need more time to take a decision over the matter. A three-member division bench headed by Chief Justice of India pronounced verdict.
The court sought more time to take a final decision over the matter. The senior advocates appeared for Congress Manu Abhishek Singhvi and Rajiv Dhavan contended citing the earlier instances in the states Haryana and Tamil Nadu. In Haryana the court took four months to pass judgment over a similar kind issue and in Tamil Nadu also it took more time to announce verdict over the matter.
The senior advocate duo argued that it is the speaker’s prerogative to take time on such matter. However the verdict was given a breath to the Con JD (S) coalition which is on brink.
