Finally, the gates of Sabarimala Temple are wide open for the first time after and the political parties have started working on their plans to monetize using Supreme Court’s verdict. From the last few weeks, after Supreme Court granted the women of all ages to enter the shrine of Lord Ayyappa. Suddenly the crooked political strategies of the political outfits started their game as a part of their preparations for the coming 2019 elections. The political outfits have removed their false peaceful masks and have started violent protests.
All the political parties including the Bharatiya Janata Party(BJP) and Congress have been protesting against the SC’s verdict on Sabarimala case and they started working against the verdict made by the Top Court. As the Lok Sabha elections are fast approaching, the BJP had resorted to the tried and tested strategy of creating chaos and grabbing power from the midst of burning fires. BJP and Congress is jointly trying to disturb the peace in the state and is attempting to overthrow the ruling government by raising emotions over the Sabarimala verdict.
Even the BJP had launched a ‘Save Sabarimala Yatra’ as a protest against SC’s verdict and it is the strategy of the party to get a vote bank in Kerala as they don’t have any other chances to make their Lotus stand in Kerala. Now the BJP is trying their best to keep the fire of protests burn in Kerala for a long time, then only they will be getting the chances of gaining votes from Kerala in the coming 2019 elections. The Congress party also jointed the protests in a belief that atleast they will also get some benefits apart from the BJP.
In the present ruling hierarchy, the final decision for a controversial case will be made by Supreme Court and it will be accepted but this time the Centre ruling party(BJP) itself questioned the verdict and also provoked the people to protest against it. The protest made by the ordinary people is not their own action but is the result of the high pressure from BJP and Congress in the name of devotional drama.
As Kerala is following traditional religious beliefs, the best weapon to make disparity between the people is to create strife on their beliefs. And this was the best time for both Congress and BJP to exhibit their crooked agenda to get a vote bank in the state. As part of their agenda protest, even the protesters took the courage to attack and physically abuse the women who came to Pampa. In the agenda protest, BJP and Congress workers took the protest as their right to attack women devotees and the reporters from Reporter TV who went to Sabarimala to cover the news.
It is very much surprising that how disrespectfully BJP and Congress has treated the verdict passed by the top court. The five bench judge headed by Dipak Misra discussed the petition filed on women’s entry to Sabarimala and declared the entry of women of all ages to Sabarimala which was taken in a good spirit by majority of the Hindus.
Those who protests against the verdict is not the real devotees of Lord Ayyappa but the BJP and Congress party workers who named themselves as “Devotees of Lord Ayyappa”, who wanted to show up their parties power by not allowing the present ruling government of Kerala to implement the law passed by the court. The best way to come up and gain benefits from the Sabarimala issue is by taking it as political hue, where each parties BJP and Congress set up their own stands which could benefit them.It is very clear from all these incidents that the outcry and the violent protests is the result of the tactic move made by BJP and Congress to exhibit that their party is towards the beliefs and emotions of the people, which they thinks a benefit for them in the coming 2019 elections.
Let’s wait and see what more BJP and Congress have in their store to improve their vote bank in Kerala.
