Kottayam: On Monday, even as the reported split in the party left unresolved, PJ Joseph, the working Chairman of the party designated as the temporary chairman of Kerala Congress. Announcing the appointment party General Secretary in charge Joy Abraham said “ this is not an appointment, as per party rules, the working chairman will naturally be vested with the responsibility in the absence of the party chairman’’
Stressing that the party has no rift in it , Joy Abraham said that though already a month passed after Party chairman KM Mani‘s death, the party has not yet been selected a new chairman. The official discussion over selecting new chairman ‘’will begin only after 41st day of Mani sir’s death on May 17.”
Though denied of any split in the party, the General Secretary said “everybody is expressing their opinion’’ and added that there was no dissent in party to create controversy and the party would amicably resolve the issue “ without going for a vote”
The dissent between PJ Joseph and Jose K Mani is undeniably surfaced out over the last few days as per reports. PJ Joseph, senior party leader in the Kerala Congress after KM Mani and the several times minister in important portfolios like Revenue and Public Work and Jose K Mani, Party vice-chairman, a former MP and current RajyaSabha member, both are trying to grip the party after KM Mani’s death.
