New Delhi: Ensued the debacle of the party in concluding LokSabha election, Congress President Rahul Gandhi would continue steering the party. Randeep Surjewala, Congress Spokes Person said.
Surjewala made the remark at a meeting mustered up by senior Congress leaders to discuss over the forthcoming assembly elections. The Congress Spokes Person declared, “Rahul was, is and will remain the Congress President. We have no doubt about it’’. Senior leaders Ahamed Patel, MallikarjunKarge, Ghulam Nabi Azad, P Chidambaram, KC Venugopal, and Jairam Ramesh were attended at the meeting.
The party meeting convened on May 25 after the fiasco faced by the party in election Rahul expressed his decision to step down. He said he will continue till new President get nominated.
He said,” we have to continue our fight I am and will remain a disciplined soldier of the Congress.’’ Past few weeks he was sticking stern on his decision despite the strong demand from senior Congress leaders to continue leading the party. The chaos prevailed in Congress after Rahul‘s decision to step down and party cannot be found another other person as President.
