Thiruvananthapuram: Slamming over Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan, the opposition leader Ramesh Chennithala alleged the chief minister to be responsible for the allegations leveled against his (Chief Minister’s office) over the gold smuggling case. He said by sacking Shiv Shankar IAS from the post of Principle Secretary, Chief Minister is making a scape goat of the official. He repeated his demand for a CBI probe over the gold smuggling case in which the Chief Minister’s office is allegedly involved.
He expressed doubt over Chief Minister’s statement that the appointment of Swapna Suresh at the IT department was not known to him. Chennithala asked how it can be possible to post an employee at the Chief Minister’s office without his knowledge. The actions taken against the principle secretary is only a treatment up on skin, opposition leader said over the removal of Principle Secretary from the post.
He said IT Secretary Shiv Shankar’s name was raked up during Sprinklr controversy but Chief Minister did not have taken any action against him then and protected him. He said any action that would lower the confidence of the officials would not be taken.
