Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government on Tuesday sought Centre’s assistance to re-establish the power and telecom services in cyclone Fani worst hit Puri and Khurda district in Odisha. The state asked Centre’s aide due to the scarcity of skilled man power in the sector to install 1.56 lakhs electric poles. The intricacy in reinstating power, electricity and water supply is yet to be found any solution. Even as the death toll in Cyclone Fani rised to 37 with two more death reported from Cuttack district on last day.
After met with Union Cabinet Secretary VK Sinha, the state Chief Secretary AP Padhi said that the state was unable to reconstruct widely destructed power infrastructure due to the lack of skilled man power and sought the Centre’s assistance.
