Beijing:The research of a Chinese scientist on tested gene-editing tool CRISPR in human embryo was claimed to be successful. The research claimed to have resulted in world’s first twins with human-modified genes.
Jiankui, the Chinese scientist is conducted the research on gene-editing tool, CRISPR on human embryo.
Now he is criticized for his claim on tested gene – editing tool CRISPR in human embryo by scientists. Haoyi Wang and Hui Yang, Chinese Academy scientists, were published a paper on PLOS biology by totally dismissing Jiankui’s claims.
The scientist duo explains, there is no sound scientific proof for the action in CRISPR on human gene. Jiankui was undergone research on how to prevent HIV transmission by conducting CRISPR on human embryos. But the result of the research was negative. The paper is also analyzed to see the mutated genes may create risky unpredictable consequences.
