Dhaka: We have heard of stories over humans transforming in to trees and rocks in mythology. The real life story of the Afghanistan native, called by the world ‘Tree man’ due to the growth of scaly muscles upon his hands and in bark like form has to tell the episode of piercing pain. He has no magical realism of artistic visions in life and wanted his hands to cut-off to get rid of the severe pain.
Since 2015 twenty-five operations has done upon his hands and legs to the remove the growth due to a special syndrome. The 28-year old Abdul Bagender says’ I cannot bear the pain any more. I can’t sleep at night. I asked doctors to cut-off my hands. So I can least get some relief. His family wearied over seeing his pain, accorded to his request. to him. Bagander is suffering from ‘Tree man Syndrome, a special genetic syndrome which is scientifically called epidermodyspiasia verruciformis (EV).
