New Delhi: In the biggest-narcotics haul in the nation, Narcotics Control Bureau of India (NCB) seized drug worth over Rs 1,000 Cr from a house at Greater Noida on Thursday. Two foreigners, two Nigerian national and one South African national were arrested over the incident. The drug weighs on 1,818 kg was seized by NCB. It is reported to be the biggest seizure in India in past 3 years and the largest pseudoephedrine haul across the world, said Madhav Singh, Zonal Director of NCB.
During investigation it is learned to have disclosed that the house of an IPS officer was used as drug-manufacturing unit. The NCB seized the drugs following a tip-off given by Nomsa Lutalo, a woman who was intercepted by Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) at Indira Gandhi International airport in Delhi. 24.7 kg pseudoephedrine was seized from her and the 31 –year-old during questioning reportedly revealed that the consignment was given to her from Greater Noida by two Nigerians. She was reportedly carrying the drug on offering huge sum of money to her in place. She has given all the information during interrogation to seize the bigger amount of drug.
