London: Margaret Atwood and Bernadine Evaristo won Booker prize for the year 2019. They are the joint winners of the prize over the last 30 years since it launched.
Atwood’s ‘The Testaments’ and she is the oldest woman who won Booker at an age of 79. She is the fourth author to win Booker twice.
Bernadine Evaristo, the first black woman and British author to have won Booker prize since the prize launched in 1962.
According to the Booker rules the prize should not be divided. The chair of judges Peter Florence said ‘after five hour of deliberations, It was our decision to float the rules. The winner duo will share the award money of 50,000 Pound.
