Thiruvananthapuram: M J Radhakrishnan, reputed Cinematographer passed at a private hospital in Thiruvananthapuram on Friday at 7 pm. He was undergoing treatment for heart attack.
M J Radhakrishnan, the seven time state award winner for cinematography, started his carrier as a still photographer. M J scored remarkable reputation for the cinematography in ‘Desadanaum’, ’Karunam’ and ‘Naalupennungal’. He won international recognition including golden globe prize for ‘Maranasimhasanum’, of Cannes International film festival the film directed by Murali Nair.
Started his carrier as a still photographer with Shaji N Karun the legendary film maker, he wielded camera for 75 feature films including Adoor Gopalakrishnan, TV Chandran, Jayaraj and Dr Biju. Besides he worked many documentary films. His debut as an independent cinematographer started with Mamalakalppuarthu, a film directed by A J Akbar.
