Thiruvananthapuram: The laxity shown by the public in following COVID rules led to undermining the COVID preventive drive undertaken by the government. Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan said during the inauguration of 102 Family Healthcare Centres in across the fourteen districts the state.
The COVID positive cases spurted in the state due to the compromise in pursuing the COVID rules directed by the governemnt. He said the state should look back with regret and a guilty conscience.
Chief Minister said stringent punishment will be given for those who violate COVID rules. The Chief Minister made the remark as a constant spike is shown in the COVID cases in the areas where triple lockdown declared in the capital district. The number of single-day COVID cases climbed to 1169 in the state as per the latest report.
