Sreeharikotta: The Lander Vikram, the orbiter of Chandrayaan-2 conveys some crucial observation to enhance our awareness of our natural satellite. On Thursday, Indian Space Research Organization, ISRO, reported that one of the payloads of Chandrayaan-2 detected charged particle present in the moon’s soil.
The payloads named Chandrayaan-2 Large Area Soft X –ray Spectrometer is designed to measure direct signature of the elements on the lunar surface. It could detect the elements Sodium, Calcium, Aluminum, Silicon and Titanium using the x-ray radiations from the Moon.
ISRO posts, ‘’the orbiter payload, in its first few days of observation, could detect charged particles and it can intensify variations during it s passage through the geotail during September’’.
