Ernakulum: Indian Super League (ISL) kicks off today at Kochi. In the opener Kerala Blasters (KBFC) will take two time champion ATK.
KBFC will look for a better start for the campaign as they failed to impress in the last season. Team has some injury worries, especially in the defense.
A week before, KBFC’s star defender Sandesh Jhingan got injured during the friendly match against North East United. He will miss few months of the sixth season. Defender Raju Gaekwad has been added to the team in replace of Jhingan.
Expectations are high as KBFC plays under Eelco Schattorie, who is the former manager of East Bengal FC.
On the other hand, ATK is coming to the season with a strong team. Match between ATK and KBFC is considered as one of the most exciting contest.
Title holders Bengaluru FC will begin their campaign at home against North East United FC.
