Bengaluru: Ramesh Kumar, Karnataka speaker said he will examine the resignation letters of Con-JD(S) MLAs throughout the night to know their decision is genuine before announcing the final decision.The speaker after met with rebel MLAs said , ‘I am not acting in haste, I am answerable to the question of people in Karnataka.’
The speaker said the governor informed me of the resignation on July 6 and he would be at the chamber till 1.30 pm. By the time no MLAs were arrived and they came at 2 pm. He said he was out after 1.30 and MLAs would not seek an appointment that’s why they could not meet him. He called off the allegation that he ran away when the MLAs arrived at his chamber to submit resignation letter.
Explaining his stand on delaying the resignation, the speaker said “the MLAs had made no communication with him and rushed to the Governor.” What can he do? Is it not misuse? They approached the Supreme Court.”
He said,” I am delaying as I love this land. I have the obligation to the people of Karnataka. That’s why I am delaying.”
