New Delhi: Finance Minister Arun Jaitley criticized the opposition Congress on forwarding extensive complaints over model code of Conduct violation against the opponents. Referring on Congress’ complaints to EC, Jaitley said that the recently lodged complaints over MCC violation increased to the extent of curbing the freedom of expression of their opponents.“During election, the greatest dance of democracy, model code of conduct and freedom of expression should harmoniously be met together”. Jaitley said.
Referring Modi’s speech in Karnataka where he asked maiden voters to dedicate their vote to the soldiers sacrificed their life in Pulwama which triggered opposition congress to complaint over MCC violation, Jaitley opinionated “No MCC violation is seen in the speech”. “Modi did not even ask to vote for a particular political party in his speech” Jaitley said. The Election Commission has already given clean chit to Modi over MCC violation on all the complaints forwarded by the Congress.
