Malappuram: A day after the state government has ordered a Crime Branch probe into the cheating case against MC Kamarudheen, an MLA of Indian Union Muslim League (IUML), a major ally in the Congress lead UDF front in Kerala, the League has taken tactical political bid in which the party ensured to reimburse the money to the complainants by six months. The party has asked Kamarudheen to resign as UDF district chairman in the Kasaragod district in the state. The IUML leaders including party leaders Panakklad Hyderali ShihabThangal and P K Kunhalikutty have conveyed the party decision at a joint press meeting held at Malappuram district in Kerala. The League asked all the IUML leaders who have been involved in the duping case to resign from their respective positions in the party.
After discussing with Kamaruddin , the IUML has ensured the investors that their money will be paid back by six months. The party has asked Kamarudheen to inform the total assets and properties of Kamarudheen and others who have involved in the cheating case. However League has refuced to consider the case leveled against Karamaruddin as a case of cheating case. The party apperently has supported the MLA’s stand that the allegation leveled against him is not that of a cheating case, but it is a case of business bankruptcy. In gist, the party has taken a stand which is like soft touch of a punishment against the MLA who has been involved in a multi-crore money cheating case.
The Kerala police registered a case against M C Kamaruddin, Mancheswaram MLA in Kasaragode district in the state .and TK Pookoya Thangal of IUML under section 420 (cheating) under the Indian penal code in a suspected case of multi-core scam. The case charged against the MLA for defrauding the investors of Fashion jewqellery. chaired by Kamruddin. The petetion lodged against the MLA says that Kamaruddin collected 35 lakh from the the investors to start Fashion gold jewellery. The money had garthered in 2019 and the show rooms of the jewellery were shut down after the businees had gone bankrupt. The complaint lodged against the MLA says a cheating case of around RS 1 crore fraud has occured, and many investers are not willing to lodge acompaint with police. Nearly 15 complaints have been filed against the MLA and the co-accuseed Pookoyathangal of IUML in the cheating case. Raids have been conducted at the residence of MLA and the IUML leader Pookoya Thangal mulitiple times. The state police chief Lok Nadh Behra said the cheating case filed against the MLA has taken over by the state crime branch.

Before a couple of days before K Firoz , a leader of the Youth wing of IUML raised allegation against Bineesh Kodiyeri, the son of CPI (M) Kerala Secretary Kodiyeri Balakrishnan over his alleged involvement in Bengalore narcotic case and UAE linked diplomatic baggage gold smuggling the cases that are heating up current Kerara polititics.
