Thiruvananthapuram: Nemum Pushpa Raj, Lalitha Kala Academy Chairman said that the Jury has the prerogative to decide the award. He was commenting over the controversial cartoon won academy award sparked protest from church over tarnishing Christianity.
The appointed jury is known for its efficiency and the academy has no intention to interfere on its duty. The jury has no intention to tarnish any religious beliefs. Even as a meeting of the academy mustered up today to decide whether the cartoon sparked controversy over marring the Christan belief should be withdrawn.
