Srinagar: The Islamic State (IS) claimed province in India for the first time after a terrorist in the group allegedly killed in Kashmir in fight between militants and army. Amaq News Agency, called the new province,’Wilayah of Hind’ where the terror organization is claimed to have casualties on Indian military in Amshipora in Shopian district in Kashmir. Indian police also issued statements in accordance to the terror organization that Ishfaq Ahmad Sofi, the militant killed in encounter in Sophian district.
Sofi, the militant killed in Sophian was involved in several terror organizations in Kashmir The group after forced to be withdrawn from Iraq and Syria where it wielded territory sprawling over thousands of miles focusing India as new province. IS claimed responsibility over serial attack in Sri Lanka which killed around 300 people over a decade before linking to the IS. According to an army official Sofi was suspected to have connected to Srinagar-based IS sympathetic magazine. Sofi was involved in several grenade attacks on security forces in the region, the police and army sources revealed. On Friday’s operation collateral damages were not reported during the exchange of fire but Police and army sources not fully dismissed the links of Sofi to the IS.
