The cricketer who is known as ‘Mr IPL’, Chennai Super Kings batsman Suresh Raina has returned home due to personal reasons and won’t be available for entire IPL 2020 season, confirmed team CEO, KS Viswanathan. Chennai Super Kings has offered complete support. Still, the specific reason for Raina’s return is not clear.
“Suresh Raina has returned to India for personal reasons and will be unavailable for the remainder of the IPL season. Chennai Super Kings offers complete support to Suresh and his family during this time,” team CEO Kasi Viswanathan said in a tweet from the Super Kings handle.
Raina’s return to India arises as an extra big hit to the Super Kings camp since at least tens members including an India player tested positive for Covid-19 after a test on Thursday. As per the reports, Deepak Chahar, fast bowler of the team tested Covid-19 positive, the others were the net bowlers and support staff members. They have postponed the commencement of their training to next months while most other teams have hit the nets already in Dubai and Abu Dhabi.
He is addressed as the leading run-scorer after Virat Kohli. A day before, he retweeted a post stating his eagerness to play IPL, “Suresh Raina has retired from the international cricket. This is not a full stop for him. The pride of #UPCA Suresh Raina will don the ranks of @ChennaiIPL Best of luck for an amazing performance at UAE IPL 2020 #WhistlePodu #AllTheBest #IPL2020 “, still the reasons remain obscure.
