New Delhi: On Thursday, amid the faceoff with China at Galwan valley in Eastern Ladakh, Defense Ministry nodded permission to buy 21Mig-29 fighter Jets. Defense Ministry’s Acquisition Council has also given nod to upgrade 59 MiG-29 aircraft.
The decision came after Prime Minister Narendra Modi spoke to Russian President Vladimir Putin on the last day. The decision will ‘strengthen the strategic partnership between the two nations in all spheres’.
7, 418 Cr is estimated to cost for the procurement and up-gradation of MIG-29 aircraft.
