New Delhi: The last phase of polling in 2019 election is marked for wide scale clash and glitches on EVMs in West Bengal and Punjab.
Wide scale violence is being reported from Punjab in which a congress worker is reported to have killed in Khadoor Sahib Constituency in a clash between Akali Dal and Congress workers. More Central forces are reported to have deployed in the state.
A Bomb is reported to have thrown at Basirhat Polling station in West Bengal. The supporters of Trinamool Congress and BJP reportedly clashed in streets and BJP alleged Trinamool workers to have seized both in Basirhat. BJP candidate Sayandan Basu alleged Trinamool not to have allowed hundreds of BJP workers casting vote.
At certain polling stations voting was delayed due the glitches in EVM and some other booths voting were blockaded over improper working of VVPAT machines. The malfunctioning of EVM in Kolkata reported to have provoked protest from voters. The opposition party candidates in the state are alleged their polling officers to have threatened by Trinamool workers. CPI (M) candidate Koninika Ghosh is held protest that her three booth agents driven out from booth. A similar kind allegation is raised by BJP candidate over forcing their booth agents to run from booths.
