Thiruvananthapuram: Kerala High Court asked the state government to produce directive making COVID negative certificate mandatory for the returning expatriates in the gulf . The court was considering a plea challenging the state government whether the state has the power to supersede the restrictions imposed by the Centre.
The Centre informed at the court that ” the state government entrusted with the task of qurantain and isolation. a detailed statement over how the guidelines would be applicable for states would be filed soon”.
The Centre said it will issue new guidelines for the passengers and chartered flights.
The court deferred the hearing over whether the state has the power to impose curbs in addition to the rules set up by the Centre to next Monday
