Islamabad: On Wednesday, Pakistan arrested Hafiz Saeed, the mastermind in Mumbai terror attack and his 12 cronies over terror financing in 23 cases. Pakistan’s Counter Terrorism Department (CTA) said Jamaath ud Dawa (JuD) leader and his associates revealed to have used five trusts to raise fund over terror activities.
23 cases have been registered against JuD leadership, Lashkar-e-Thoiba and FIF Falah over terror financing through the assents of the trusts AL Anfaal, Dawat ul Irshad, Muaz Bin Jabal , Al Hamd Trust and Al Madina Foundation. CTA said, “ they ( the terror group) will be prosecuted in Anti terrorism Courts for commission of these offences”. JuD is the main organization for LeT which is involved in Mumbai terror attack. The growing international pressure on Pakistan to take action against terrorists in its soil forced the country to the arrest.
