Thiruvananthapuram: National Investigation Agency, which is investigating over the diplomatic baggage gold smuggling case found out two Kerala ministers visited the UAE consulate after violating the protocols in visiting the foreign consulate. Earlier it was reported that NIA is all set to question top political figures in connection with the gold smuggling case as per the statements given by Swapna Suresh.
During the interrogation, the key accused Swapana Suresh is informed to have revealed about the visiting of two ministers to the UAE consulate in Thiruvanathapuram. The ministers reportedly visited UAE consulate three times for official and personal purposes.
The ministers have required the permission of The Ministry of External Affairs to attend official functions at the embassies and consulates. They must seek permission through the protocol section of the state public administration department. The ministers reportedly did not have sought permission through the protocol
