Thiruvananthapuram: Health Minister K K Shailaja expressed hope that the strike to be held by the doctors in the state on Monday over expressing solidarity with protesting doctors in Bengal would not be affected the functioning of the hospitals.
The strike would be observed as an indicative protest to convey the problems faced by doctors, Health Minister said. Unlike other professions doctors are dealt with human life and their strike should not be affected the precious human lives. She said the doctors at the government hospitals in the state are known for their dedication in work.
On last Monday onwards doctors in Bengal held protest over demanding security during work. Many senior doctors resigned as part of protest and that affected the functioning of hospitals in the state. The protest by doctors in Bengal triggered stir by doctors across the country. In Delhi, Mumbai and other states witnessed protest held by doctors expressing solidarity with doctors in Bengal.
