Thiruvananthapuram: In an augmenting spike in the COVID cases, the state reported 488 single day COVID positive cases on Saturday. With 234 contact cases, the state reported alarmingly soaring number of contact case to mark the highest record of contact cases . For the first time the state reported two COVID death today and in both cases COVID confirmed after the death.To add more to the complex situation 11 cases reported with unknown sources.
Thiruvananthapuram reported 69 cases and of the sixty nine , 46 are contact cases. Alapuzha reported 87 positive cases and of them 59 are contact cases. Ernakulum reported 47 cases and among them 3o are contact cases . In Malappuram, among the 51 positive cases reported today and of them 26 are contact cases. To add more to the woe , the number of COVID cases with untraced sources reached 25 in Malappuram. Five clusters are formed in Malappuram district. 16 hot spots declared today and total number of hot spots are 197 inn the state. In Pathanamthitta, among the 54 cases reported, 25 are contact cases. In Kollam, of the 18 cases, 7 cases are infected through contact.
Of the COVID positive cases, 167 reached back from abroad and 76 persons from other state. 143 recovery cases reported today.
