Thiruvananthapuram: 104 persons have been tested positive for COVID in Anchuthengu, a coastal area in the capital district today. 104 persons turned positive for COVID in massive antigen tests held in five centers in the region. The virus spreading is posing a high threat in nearby areas too.
The coastal areas Poonthura, Pullivila Anthuthengu where the virus launched havoc with a rapid spreading was reportedly shown a tendency to recede. The coastal areas in the capital city have been witnessing a record spike in the number of fresh cases for the last 21 days. Though reports have been indicated a dip in the number of positive cases, in Poonthura and Pulluvila, Anchuthengu fresh cases are surging.
The tests have been conducted in the state massively for a couple of days after large-scale protests sparked over the lower rate of tests held in the state. The spike in the number of cases is witnessed as the state began to conduct more number of testes.
