Thiruvananthapuram: Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan dismissed the alleged involvement of Shamsir CPI (M) MLA over the attack on COT Nazir, the independent candidate in Vadakara LokSabha Constituency. Defending Shamsir Pinarayi said not to have exploited the incident for vested political interests and the incident is isolated one. The name of Shamsir is not revealed by COT Nazir in the incident and assembly should not be made a podium to say anything about anyone, Chief Minister said.
Opposition leader Ramesh Chennithala pointed out the statement made by COT Nazir that Shamsir threatened him (Nazir) when questioned over the anomalies over the construction of Talasseri stadium ground. Then why he has been avoided from investigation, Chennithala asked. The ruling faction denied opposition leader’s allegation and defended the MLA. The opposition held a walk out after the hectic parley over the incident.
Even as COT Nazir denied Chief Minister’s statement on a Malayalam channel. He said Shamsir threatened him to have chopped off his legs by calling him on to the office. The bid to subvert the case is taking place and he is not satisfied over the current probe, COT Nazir said. Nazir said he will approach the court in order to get justice.
