New Delhi: With BJP lead marginably, an inch to inch fight between BJP and AAP is seen in Shaheenbag in Okhla constituency. where protest against Citizenship Amendment Act sparked violence and riot.
Shaheenbag was a topic of discussion focused in current election arena by both BJP and AAP. Prominent leaders including UP Chief Minister Yogi Adithyanath unleashed tirade against the Citizenship Amendment Act protest. He said Kejriwal provided Biriyani to the CAA protesters while he is allegedly unable to give minimum food and drinking water to the people in Delhi. An MP of BJP in his tirade against CAA protest triggered controversy for his communal remark that the people in other religion will enter Hindus home and rape the women.
Besides Aravind Kejriwal, the Chief Minister took a passive stand over the CAA protest when the Shaheen bag and CAA protest widely been discussed across the country. He neither supported CAA nor the protest against CAA. His absence in Shaheenbag during election campaign was noted for its significance.
When Delhi marked for low polling in the ongoing election, Shaheenbag was an exception. Since the polling started on February 8 a constant polling rate with high percentage was exuded in Shaheenbag.
