The All India Cine Workers Association (AICWA) has imposed a blanket ban on the Pakistani actors and singers working Indian film industry. The move came after the Pulwama terror attack, which killed 40 CRPF jawans .
Tension is prevailing between India and Pakistan after the terrorist attack. Various organizations of the country including Cricket Concil of India, BCCI and film associations has strongly condemned the terrorist attack
The official notice of the AICWA states that “All Indian Cine Workers Association strongly condemns brutal terrorist attack on our soldiers at Pulwama district in Jammu and Kashmir. Our heartfelt condolences to the families of the victims. AICWA stands with nation in confronting such terror and inhumanity”.
The association also issued a warning that, if any organization working with Pakistani artists will be banned by the AICWA.
The move from the AICWA came after a right wing political party Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS), had called on a ban on the Pakistani artists working in Indian film industry. They also threatened if Pakistani artists are not removed.
After all the threats by the right wing outfits, the Indian music composer T-series unlisted the two latest releases of Atif Aslam and Rahat Fateh Ali Khan.
