Lucknow: Heavily coming down on Mayawati, PM Modi accused BSP Supremo to be making crocodile tears over Alwar gang rape, the gang rape of a dalit woman in Alwar in Rajasthan. Addressing election rallies in Eastern Uttar Pradesh PM said that if Mayawati is serious over the issue she should be withdrawn support to the congress government led by Ashok Gehlot in Rajasthan.
Mayawati retorted Modi to have allegedly used the gang rape of a Dalit girl for playing dirty politics and asked Modi to resign over the alleged incidents of Dalit atrocities in the past. BSP Supremo pointed out the incidents of Rohit Vimulla and Una flogging incident to attack Modi over the matter.
As per reports, the case based incident happened on April 26 when the victim was allegedly dragged into road by stopping the motor cycle by the accused as she was travelling with her husband and raped her in front of him. They submitted a police complaint over the incident on April 26 itself but FlR was filed on May 2 and they alleged police not to have taken immediate action over the incident.
BSP Chief ensured to be taken ’appropriate’ political decision in the absence of ‘stringent and proper legal action’ over the case, in a press note responding over PM Modi’s demand to resign from Rajasthan government. Mayawati accused the state government to have allegedly hidden the incident from public notice by allegedly terrorizing the victim’s family and under these circumstances the victim would not get proper justice. BSP chief appealed to the Supreme Court to notice the matter in order to ensure ‘prompt justice’ and ‘strict punishment’.
