Thiruvananthapuram: L S Sibu, the Air India official, against whom the gold smuggling racketers spearheaded by Swapna Suresh launched a woman harassment complaint, has been suspended from service today. The suspension order has been issued alleging that Sibu talked media about the matters pertaining to Air India.
Sibu has been transferred to Hyderabad over a woman harassment complaint filed by an employee at Air India in 2019. Sibu opposed the decision to have appointed a person with a criminal background at Air India SATS. The gold smuggling racket by using a woman employee filed a fake complaint against him. He had been transferred to Hyderabad after Air India’s internal team of officials probed over the matter. The official team probed over the matter had taken a stand against Sibu, by not considering what he had to talk about. Following that he lodged a complaint with Crime Branch. Though the crime branch found out he was not guilty, Air India did not have revoked his transfer order. Sibu, who was reluctant to continue in service, joined the service in 2018 after the court issued a verdict proving his innocence and later joined the Hyderabad office of Air India.
Crime Branch investigation found out that it was Swapna Suresh in the name of Pawathi Sabu produced woman called Neethu Mohan to give statements against Sibu. When questioned Swapna Suresh had revealed then that she was intimidated to do it by high profiled officials including the director at Air India SATS. The crime branch found out even the complaint filed against Sibu had been drafted by Swapna.
