A Malayalam Short film with Hollywood like VFX. A short film from Kerala is creating ripples with including special effects rarely seen in short films. The big budget short film “Kivuda” is a suspense thriller which says the story of three girls who goes missing without any clue. The short film is based on a real life incident which took place in Australia three decades ago.
The 70 minute short movie is directed by Vijay Mahadevan and assisted by the technicians across the world. The Malayalam short film will have its versions in Tamil and English.
The film wants to show how our society behaves without seeing the whole picture. Man seems to react with half knowledge and revels in rumors and rumor-mongism. The name “Kivuda” itself reflects the meaning deaf. Kivuda means deaf in Kannada and film wants to show that human beings are quite often deaf to the complete truths.
The crew has many new faces and the editor Praveen Prabhakar is a known name to Malayalis who has edited hits like Bangalore Days, Ustad Hotel, Iyobinte Pustakam. The short film is the production of Australian School of Indian Arts (ASIA).
The budget for the movie was 30 lakhs. This is much higher than the regular budgets for a short film. The film is shot in Kerala, Dubai and Australia
‘Kivuda’ is expected to release in August.
